In a world that’s blacker than a demon’s soul, only darkness can drive out darkness…
Name’s Ethan Drake: cop, vigilante, and bearer of more darkness than any single soul should possess. My partner’s a demon, which ain’t exactly the easiest thing to work with, if you know what I mean. But beggars can’t be choosers, and when you’re knee-deep in occult cases, you take what you can get.
And we just caught a whiff of something rotten – real rotten. Seems some creepazoid’s snatching bodies to bring forth something so nasty, it could make Satan himself retch. Not like I care about humanity’s fate, but somebody’s gotta stop this thing, right?
Of course, it doesn’t help that a demon has decided it wants to ride shotgun in my body, while the brass is breathing down my neck over some punk who deserved what he got. Oh, and I’m trying to solve the murders of my ex-wife and kid, too. And did I mention the Hellicorn with the sassiest mouth this side of Hell?
Let’s just say, that thing threatening humanity’s future? I might just give it a helping hand…
If Harry Bosch and John Constantine had a love child, it’d be this pulse-pounding, urban fantasy noir.

5.0 out of 5 stars A surprisingly fascinating great read
This book is by no means my usual taste in reading. A kinda bizarre dark story of intreaging weird characters, but once I got into it, thoroughly compelling reading, I absolutely enjoyed this book, the story, the characters, the twists, slightly barking mad, but a recommended good read.
5.0 out of 5 stars Fun characters and interesting story
There were a lot of fun characters getting into all sorts of action in this book. It made sense with all the new arrivals that the world was heading downhill, and the characters did their best to still get through their days. I enjoyed this book and recommend it. I am also glad to see this is a series, as there should be a lot more fun to be read in future books.
Interesting characters in this series
I am very glad I chose this book. The characters are well developed and the plot is entertaining. I can't wait to dive into the next book.
Gruesome
It took me a long time to get into the book. I was confused and unsure of what was going on. Nothing amounted to a plot until about 1/3 of the way through. The main character wasn’t very likeable. It was hard to root for him. I’m not offended by the “f-word” but if it were eliminated in this book it would be a lot shorter. I finished it, but the details of necrophilia, beastiality, and the rape of a dying man gave me nightmares. It was almost as if this book had been written for shock value more than anything else. The writing was good, but the content was lacking. Maybe written for teenage boys or perverts. I won’t be reading any more by this author.
4.0 out of 5 stars A different kind of paranormal
Internal Justice has plenty of paranormal beings with a human cop on a mission to stop unusual criminals. That being said, this book was kinda dark. The good guys are demons and killers. After losing his ex wife and child to a brutal killer, Drake wants revenge. He's not having any success in finding their killer, as he is sidetracked by stopping a killer, intent on opening a portal for his mind to come through and annihilate mankind This book did keep me wondering what would happen next. I plan on reading the next in this series to see what kind of trouble Drake gets in next.
5.0 out of 5 stars Dirty Harry paranormal style.
Seriously in my head I was seeing this partly as Dirty Harry. Guys got dark vibe but will do the hard way to see the job through. The lead character starts in the worst place one could think having just lost his family now having to continue to face off with demons, more demons and oh yeah people. I see there are more books in this series which is a good thing.
